First High Tea With Hazel!
What a year it’s been! People told us how hard this year would be, but nothing does it justice like living it yourself. Despite all the sleepless nights, puke, screaming, and diaper changes nothing will outweigh the love you develop feel for your child. Their first smile, word, and or step brings so much joy you never knew you had to a parent’s heart .
For me, picking a theme for Hazel’s first birthday has been on the top of my mind for months now. I knew I wanted the party to have a feminine and elegant taste. Let’s be honest, the party details are more for me than Hazel! LOL
I have an obsession with a Netflix show called Bridgerton which is set in the lavish Regency era of London. The show’s colorful costumes, glittering ballrooms, and high society garden tea parties inspired me for Hazel’s first birthday!
I decided to create a Bridgerton-inspired high tea party fit for my little Queen in training!

For those who don’t know, Trader Joes has great, cheap flowers. I went the day before the party to pick out all my flowers!
Both scrumptious cakes were made by the incredible Megan Brown aka Sweet Tooth Fairy!

When it came to food for the event, we knew we had to hire a great chef to complete the theme. So, it was obvious to hire Steph Khan of Savory Kitchen who is a private chef but also has a catering business. I cannot say enough about the food and drinks she prepared. She gave us plenty of options and everything turned out just as described. And, we had plenty of leftovers which my family ate for days afterwards.

I’ve been collecting tea sets since my Grandmother gifted me my first tea set at sixteen years old. All my tea sets are from different places including stores in Ireland and England. I also have a few lucky thrift store finds in there. Never underestimate a thrift store!
A few of my tea sets are
Daddy, Mommy, Hazel, and Poppy!
